We present to you Mumma's very own article in her own words.
In our spiritual walk, we encounter many challenges and face defeat, but the lord is always faithful, to uphold us and to encourage us. The word FAITH is so very common a word used by all of us, and yet we are so very far away from comprehending the real meaning of that precious word. Most popular teachings on faith lead all of us to believe that faith is nothing but just receiving what we ask of from GOD. The faith they say has made them so big, so rich and so very successful in life. But on the contrary, we experience many hardships and sometimes no matter how hard we try and pray things will not turn out the way we expect. We all have had bitter experiences in our lives. If we just go back in our lives we’ve had our share of breaking. There were times when we cried our hearts out, our hearts were crushed and pounded. We had agonizing moments. We didn’t know who to go to and we also know that we didn’t have a shoulder to cry on.
Dear Reader, do these experiences seem familiar to us? If not, we have still not tasted the magnanimity of the LORD,s care, Love and Grace, because it's through these breakings and sorrows that we get to know the LORD better. Psalms 119:71 says: It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn YOUR statutes’. It is through these breakings that our FAITH muscles are strengthened, toned and nourished. Real faith says” I will trust in spite of all the storms of life”. Real faith will cry in unison with the Hebrew youth in Daniel 3:17 &18” Our GOD whom we serve is able to deliver us from your hand, O, king”, BUT IF NOT” let it be known to you O KING that we will not serve or worship your gold image”
There is a saying which goes like this:
”There is no testimony without a test
No victory without a battle
No perfume without crushing
No healing without sickness
And no crown without a cross”
Interestingly, we as believers cling on to his promises in the midst of a storm and blurt out saying “He gives me peace in the midst of a storm” and “beauty for ashes dear”. Sometimes we go through so much pain, agony, trauma, chaos, tears and a host of other things. And it is at such times that God's comforting words soothe us and keeps us firm as the psalmist says in Psalms 94:19..in the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul. So let's encourage ourselves with HIS word and HIS never failing promises.
Keep n mind at all times that Our Lord loves us beyond everything and he is in control of every situation. He will lead and guide us through our difficult times, he will shield us and guard us as he is our Heavenly Father.
Dr. Annie Job.
