We face temptation everyday. If we are not armed with tools to overcome those temptations, we are more than likely to give in to them instead of resisting them. Martin Luther is reported to have said concerning temptation "You can't stop the birds from flying over your head; but you can keep them from making a nest in your hair."
All of us can be expected to be confronted with temptation of various sorts. Temptation is not sin, it is an opportunity to do good. On the path to spiritual maturity temptation becomes a steeping block. We have to realize that it is just as much as occasion to do the right thing as it is to do the wrong thing.
Temptation simply provides the choice. While temptation is Satan's primary weapon to destroy us, God wants to use it to help us grow. Every time we choose to do good instead of sin, we are growing in the character of Christ.
James 1:12 - "Blessed is the man who endures temptation for when he has been proved he will receive the crown of life"
The following principles can help us fight and win against temptation.
1. FLEE FROM TEMPTATION :

Run away from temptation as soon as you recognize it. - II Timothy 2:22
We see in Genesis 39, that Joseph left his garment and fled outside, away from Potiphar's wife. Away from the person who was tempting him. This helped him to overcome his temptation. We should not wait and debate the issue. The longer we wrestle with tempting thoughts, the close we get to committing the sin.
2. PRAY THROUGH THE TEMPTATION :

Prayer is a mighty weapon which God has given us. This is an integral part of the process because we need God's help and because we need God's help and because we need to be prepared because Jesus himself said in
Luke 22:40 - "Pray that you may not enter into temptation"
3. ARM YOURSELF WITH THE WORD OF GOD :

The Bible says in Ephesians 6:17 - "Take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." This is another weapon God has given us to use against Satan. When the Lord Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, he also used this weapon.
4. FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD'S CHILDREN :

We need help in the grey areas of life. People who are in tune with God can help us see the right and wrong. As the writer of Proverbs says "to hear our fathers instructions" We need godly people to help us to make right decisions.
So Dear Reader,
Being tempted is a natural tendency, even our Lord was tempted. But making sure that we don't fall into Sin is important.
At times we might have a weak moment and fall prey for sin. That will not be the end of the world, Our Savior is ever so ready to forgives us of our sins. For which we have to repent and feel sorry for the mistake and should give our 1000% best to never sin again the Lord
Above all, Let's fix our eyes on Jesus Christ our Redemeer, clinging onto HIM and abiding in HIM, will help us resist the devil and all his tempting wiles.
May the LORD Strengthen and Guide us,
And
