How To be Successful ?

For believers success can never be measured by money. When we hear people earning lakhs and crores, that tells, they are wealthy, but it does not prove that they are successful. The measurement of success is simply the ratio of talents used, to the talents received, which simply means what you are doing with what you have received and who are you becoming.

Just as the parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30). All the three men were gifted with talents, but the first two men were more blessed than the third man. Because they worked diligently on their talents and produced more. The man with five talents made five more without any hesitation, the man with two talents did not think the one before him got more, but was happy with what he had and made them two. But the last man who was gifted with one talent did nothing he went and buried the talent and wasted the most precious opportunity. As a result he was judged wicked and lazy for being unfaithful and wasting the master's money.

Whether you work, study, run a business or stay at home, if you are not using a large percentage of your talents for the Lord then you are not Successful. In order to get successful and be blessed at the same time here are a few things we need to keep in mind.

1) Set Your Goal:

Even before we begin our work or the plan toward being successful we have to set our goal. This helps us to stay focused and will give us the direction and purpose. If we do not have a final goal, we will get confused at every stage on the journey to become successful.

As believers our main goal should be to seek the Kingdom of God first. (Matthew 6:33)

2) Work Hard :

In order to reach our goal we must put in all that we have, our time, effort, strength,etc. We have to work very hard and do all the ground work. Without preparing we cannot say God will take care of it or pray and ask God to give us good results, because our God is a just God. Also" God helps those who help themselves"

Proverbs 12:11 states that those who work and put in their effort will have blessing of abundance. We must put up our best, do all that we can, and then leave he rest on the LORD.

3) Depend On The Lord :

Proverbs 3:5-6 says trust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding. Without the Lord we cannot do anything. In fact we cannot even take a breath. Thus we have to acknowledge Jesus Christ in our daily life and have to indulge him in all our endeavours. This means falling down on our knees and praying for guidance and help in everything and trusting that God will answer in the ways that are best.

4) Be Patient :

Waiting time is not wasting time. The last but not the least key to success is patience. You should never give up. Sometimes we feel like quitting, but we must learn to endure trails and difficulties. Those who run marathon races are a great example for patience. Despite failure, they push themselves forward and in many cases finish what they have started. Just as Psalm 27:14 says we have to wait for the Lord to do the needful.

May the Lord help all of us to follow these keys and live for HIM.
