My Salvation Story !

I grew up listening to the Word of God. I knew I was a child of God and was real confident that I was going to heaven no matter what. As my parents are in the ministry and never missed church. I read the Bible and prayed everyday, I memorized the bible verses and was always first in Sunday School. This was my version of winning a ticket to heaven.

In 2006, I was in my 2nd grade. My paternal grandpa, who loved me the most as I was the youngest in the family entered glory. We went to the funeral and after a few days came back home. It was then, on one specific night that my mom and I supposedly did not fall asleep. As we were on the bed, I began asking my mom about my grandpa. I knew he went to heaven but wanted to know if he got his wings or used the aircraft.

My mom literally got up laughing and told me that Jesus came and took grandpa. My immediate question was weather Jesus would come and take me as well. I was expecting a yes, but my mom said NO!. It broke my little heart. Then she made me sit on her lap and told me that I had to confess my sins and accept Jesus as my Personal Savior. The little girl in me was really excited and immediately knelt down to accept Jesus as my Savior.

This was the day I was born again and joined the heavenly family. I was only a 7-year old girl and did not know the seriousness of it. Sometimes I did go astray.

In July 2010, my cousin and I decided to watch the movie - Left Behind. The movie brought chills down my spine. I had so many doubts in my mind about where would I go. I began questioning my self, as I was not sure about my salvation. I just could not sit calm. I ran to my mother and told her what I was going through. She then told me that it's never too late with the Lord. It was that day that I went down on my knees, confessed my sins and asked the Lord to write my name in the Book of Life and make me HIS own. Finally I had the Assurance of my Salvation.

From that day on I have been living for Jesus as his Own. Nothing except the blood of Jesus can take us to heaven. All we need to do is to confess that we are sinners and he is faithful to forgive us.
