The Real Me !!

Hey there,

I am Jamie Dorcas, for short but in real I am Jamie Dorcas Samantini Slessor Parshva !!

Yes ! I know it's a real long name. My parents poured all the love they had into my name, as I am their only child. I am 21 years old from Hyderabad, India.

My parents are full time workers for the LORD. They gave up their respective careers to win souls for Christ. When I was in my mother's womb my parents dedicated me to the Lord. When I was three months old, the Lord enabled my parents to begin our church called Divine Light Christian Assembly.

I grew up around prayers and the word of God. So much so that my mom would make me coloring sheets of the Bible verses and I had to memorize them as I color.The bible was involved in everything I did.

My parents are real strict when it comes to right and wrong. They made sure I always did the right thing, but whenever I disobeyed as a child they made sure to correct me with a little spanking. I will forever be grateful to my parents for all the spanking as it made me what I am today.

I have a very special relationship with Jesus. Because I am a single Child, as a little girl there were times where I had to play all by myself, so once I went crying to my dad and told him I wanted someone to play with me. He then said that "Jesus is always with you and you are never alone." This bought a huge smile on my face and that was the beginning of Friendship with Jesus. I believe Jesus Christ is not only my Savior and Redeemer , but he has been my friend, my Cornerstone and Lover. I literally sometimes just sit and talk to him, I know this sounds real funny but I bet you there is nothing more beautiful than feeling the presence of HIM in your life.

Once my mother told me, when my parents started the ministry they asked the Lord for broken souls rather than strong believers. Because the broken and the depressed crave for love and they need help. The Lord did answer their prayers and I grew up seeing my parents counselling many broken youngsters and adults about the Love of Jesus Christ and Salvation. This led to a congregation of 500 people who worship the Lord every Sunday at our church.

This is exactly what inspired me to reach out to the teens and youngsters through this platform. I am very fond of little Children, which helped me become a Sunday School teacher and also start a magazine the 'Christian Kids Chest' for them.
